This week’s Writing Excuses podcast episode features Patrick Rothfuss’s assistant Valerie Dowbenko and my assistant Peter Ahlstrom. Many writers will never get to the point in their career where they need to hire an assistant, but some of the sorts of things assistants do often get done by significant others acting as business partners. And many of them are things that an unpublished writer can afford to let slide so they don’t impinge on writing time.
