BRANDON: Hey! So, it's time for your Weekly Update. I am at my booth at FanX where we are meeting lots of people and hopefully selling lots of books.

So your first thing today. We have Moment Zero, the story I've been working on for my non-Cosmere collection. It is at, Bing! 100%, and I am almost done with the revision. So that's actually at, like, Bing! 50%. So very soon that will be off to beta readers, and we'll be working along on that.

Now, Janci is still working on her story. She's at 47% on Blightfall. So Bing! for that for you. 

I'll be announcing, in just a few minutes, some things at FanX. though this is Saturday, you're seeing this on Tuesday. So you get to hear about what we talked about at FanX. So a couple things.

If you didn't see my thing last week, last week we talked about inventing our own holiday to replace Black Friday.

All right. I'm here to introduce something to you. We want to have a nice set of holiday sales at Dragonsteel on our store. But we don't love Black Friday. Some problems with Black Friday. We've done it in the past. We've done Black Friday sales and things. Number one problem is, I've never liked Black Friday as a concept because it kind of ruins a holiday weekend in America for all the workers. If we run Black Friday sales, my team has to be ready in case there's tech support problems, or they have to be working all right up to Thanksgiving in order to be able to, you know, have all of these things ready. I don't like that. I like people to be able to go to Thanksgiving and have a nice weekend.

Number two. We tend to have these Black Friday things happening too late in the year. Like, it takes a while to ship overseas. And while Black Friday works, it both happens close to Dragonsteel Nexus and close enough to some of the holidays, like when Hanukkah might begin and things like that, that it makes us uncomfortable with how close that is to everything.

So, we have decided to do our own. We have decided that instead of supporting Black Friday, we'll just start doing our holiday sales about a month early. We actually picked the name Light Day, which is out of the Stormlight Archive. Fun fact about that. I originally called it Sun Day. It's the day that they see the sun in the middle of the weeping. But then I'm like, eh, Sun Day has connotations and things. So I renamed it Light Day. It became a Rosharan thing and evolved over time. We decided to pick that as the day that we begin our seven-week sort of holiday sale period on Dragonsteel books.

So, starting October 29th is Light Day. Like I said, this goes for seven weeks, but we kick it off. We're going to have lots of interesting and cool merch coming out. We're going to have discounts. Everything that we are launching we will have available on that day, which will give you plenty of time to order it for the holidays so that we can get it shipped to you so that there's less of a panic with people ordering late November for things that they need mid-December. So mark your calendars if you're looking for discounts. Maybe wait to buy things from our store. I know I'm not supposed to say stuff like that. But maybe wait until October 29th, because we will be running discounts on a lot of things.

So, here at FanX I gave kind of my big panel, and during it I did some things like show off the end pages for Wind and Truth, and, you know, some other cool things. Some stuff from the Wind and Truth merch bundle and whatnot. We will have a blog post on our blog very soon. Might be up already. the video will come in about a month if you want to watch that. There is a reading from one of the interludes of Wind and Truth. And about a month actually is a good time because it's taking place a little bit after the preview chapters. So it's a little in the future of what you're going to be reading.

So otherwise, the Wind and Truth bundles, they are available right now. So go get those. Have a look. Plushie chull, very cool. We also have the Mistborn deck building game, which has gone live now as well. So those two things are good and live, and I'm going to go off to my panel with these lovely people from FanX.
