Guest Blogging, Babel Clash, Interviews, Authorpalooza Tomorrow, and TOWERS OF MIDNIGHT Tour

Peter here again. Brandon is back from his tour, but he’s been very active online everywhere except his own website, it seems! First up, last weekend John Scalzi’s Whatever blog featured a guest post essay by Brandon entitled Postmodernism in Fantasy. For people confused about what that might cover, let me say it involves a Read the full article…

Updates, Tightening Language, and Suvudu Interview

At Comic-Con this past weekend I did an interview with Shawn Speakman of Suvudu where I talk about THE WAY OF KINGS among other things. Check it out. In the most recent WARBREAKER annotations I talk about Ramblemen, Idris’s drabness, Mab the cook, and Dedelin’s decision, Siri’s departure and character shifts, and monks in Idris Read the full article…

Updates + More THE WAY OF KINGS Previews

The most recent Writing Excuses podcast episodes feature the return of Howard Tayler after his hiatus from the episodes recorded at CONduit. First up we discuss avoiding stilted dialogue. Then we talk about major overhauls to broken stories. WARBREAKER annotations are going up, with entries added for the map, the acknowledgments page, and the first Read the full article…

Gemmell Voting,Wheel of Time Article,Audible Tournament Winner+Updates

Voting has begun for the David Gemmell Legend Award, which I mentioned last week. It will continue through May 31st. This past weekend was BYU’s science fiction/fantasy symposium, Life, the Universe & Everything. This was my first convention as Guest of Honor (as well Read the full article…

Amazonfail 2010, Mythmaker Interview, Updates

The big story over the weekend was that Amazon temporarily stopped selling all Macmillan books, which includes all my books from Tor, to protest Macmillan’s new ebook terms. There’s not a lot I have to add to this discussion, except to say that Tor’s publicity department thought the illustration accompanying Engadget’s article on the affair Read the full article…

Doctors Without Borders, Interviews, THE WAY OF KINGS

Wheel of Time fansite TarValon.net is hosting another charity drive—this time in support of Doctors Without Borders. If you’re interested, consider helping out at their team’s donation page. It looks like they have a small number of “thank you” prizes as well, including one of the limited edition copies of THE GATHERING STORM. I did Read the full article…
